- American Trucking Association
The ATA is the voice of the trucking industry that consists of 50 state affiliate trucking associations. Locally we have our own association known as RITA (Rhode Island Trucking Association). Massachusetts has their own association as well-known as the Massachusetts Motor Transportation Association. - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
The FMCSA sets the rules governing commercial drivers and their main objective is
the prevention of accidents and injuries to drivers and the general public. - OSHA 10 / 30 Training
This training is required for many construction companies to access the job sites. Although this certification is not required by us at the school we do recommend getting this certification. - TSA Hazmat pre-enrollment
In 2005 under federal law, qualified CDL drivers looking to haul hazardous
materials (hazmat) are required to be fingerprinted and have a background check performed before renewing or applying for a hazmat endorsement. Like many endorsements this is not required to drive a commercial vehicle but many local companies require this endorsement for employment.
